July 1st Meeting

Sorry for the late notice, but I was on vacation. We’re scheduled to meet tomorrow July 1^st at 6:30 at Mugs like usual. We might have a guest speaker, still working on that however, if not I’ll give a presentation on Degrafa. We can also flip through Brian C’s Cookbook.

Remember, for the next big software give-away, we’re gonna do more of a lottery. Every time you give a presentation you’ll get entered and therefore have a better chance come the first week in December.

July 3rd Meeting Recap

Yes, everyone who shows up at our meeting was a winner. Go Team.

 

I’m tentatively planning our next meeting for July 1^st.  I know it’s right around the July 4^th holiday so if you guys want to move it back to the 8^th send me a text, otherwise I’ll schedule that meeting at Mugs soon.

Also, for a new topic and a change of pace I thought we could do a hands on session next time. Some of the topics I’ve been thinking about were:

• implementing Drag/Drop,
• intro to Degrafa,
• manipulating complex data with e4x
• Application navigation
• Understanding the Component Lifecycle.

If there is a topic here or not here that you would like to learn let me know.

 

 

 

 

June 3rd Giveaways

In addition to our regular meeting we’re going to be giving away two free passes to Flex | 360, one flash drive and a software bundle from Adobe, so if you’re thinking about coming out this will be the week to do it.

Be sure to bring laptops and problems. We have a small group so let’s keep it open and fun.

Next Meeting June 3rd

Our next meeting will be at Underground Mugs again at 6:30 – 800pm. I have a couple presentations ready. Debugging tricks, WebORB and/or SmashedApples. If you guys are in the mood for those great I’ll give them. Otherwise we can talk through other subjects.  

As always, bring your laptops and a subject and feel free to give a presentation as well.

We had our first meeting tonight and I’d like to say thanks to everyone who showed up. It was especially encouraging for me. I felt like there was good diversity and that we can start to leverage our local flex talent.

Our First Meeting

Our first meeting will be this Tuesday at 6:30 pm at UnderGround Mugs in Old Town. We got the room for an hour and a half. My plan is to just have the initial meeting and kinda discuss some of details of the group like what days work best for meeting. I’ll give a short overview of flex with some slides. And then we can use the remaing time to have a flex camp atmosphere where anyone can get up and give mini presentations on flex. So bring your laptop if you think you’d like to give a short demo. All topics and skill levels are welcome. Afterwards, being Fat Tire Tuesday in old town we’ll probably stop in a pub for a pint and some more chat.

Calendar Feeds

I’ve never integragated a domain with google apps and I so I thought using fortfug.com would be a good way to expermiment. So anyways, it doesn’t seem like there’s an easy way to display a calendar of events mapped to a url. If anybody knows how to do that I’d love to hear from ya. So anyways, if you want to integrate your calendar with the Fort Collins Flex User Group calendar here’s a few different ways.
